  1. Hi Judith, I was able to find #14 but the other 2 I haven’t been able to locate. I’ve sent out an email to #25 and will add the new link if she has one somewhere – her old blog has closed currently but she does have some patterns listed on Ravelry still.

  2. Neither #14 nor #29 of the 30 free scarf patterns would open, and I am very interested, by their titles, in what they may look like.

Thanks, Rhondda, for your shares and artistry!

What is the best yarn to use to crochet a scarf? ›

Mandala yarn is the perfect choice for lightweight scarves, and there are some pretty good reasons why. First off, it's super tough, so your scarf won't get all fuzzy even if you wear it a lot. It's also machine-washable, making it super convenient.

Is it faster to knit or crochet a scarf? ›

This set of data supports the conclusion that crochet is, indeed, faster than knitting. Showing, in fact, that knitting can take 2-3 times as long to produce the same amount of fabric as crochet. Interestingly enough, double crochet seems to be faster than single crochet.

How many chains to crochet a scarf? ›

If you're using a medium-width yarn, each chain will be about 1/4 inch. If you want your scarf to be 5 inches wide, then that would be 20 chains. For a thinner yarn, it might be 1/8 inch wide per chain, so you'd want to double that to 40 chains. If it's a really chunky yarn, you could probably do 10-12 chains.

How long is an infinity scarf crochet? ›

What is the difference between a cowl and an infinity scarf? ›

Cowl – Think of a cowl as a very short infinity scarf. If that doesn't make sense, just ignore me and think of it as a collar. Cowls are perfect for people who don't like to fuss with scarves because they don't have a lot of material to them.

What's the difference between a cowl and a snood? ›

According to my definition (I don't know whether it's the same as anybody else's), a cowl and a snood are both a tube of fabric that sits around your neck. The difference between them is that a cowl stays there, whereas a snood is long enough that it can be pulled up and over the top of your head.
