Despite launching all the way back in 2016 when everything at least *seemed* a little bit more normal than it does now, Dark Souls 3 nonetheless has endured as a premium example of how to do this whole Dark Souls business right. Stuffed with all manner of fiendish bosses, danger ridden areas and rewarding side quests, we’ve taken the opportunity to break down all of the Dark Souls 3 bosses, areas and side quests in order. Praise the sun! (or something)
Dark Souls 3 Bosses In Order
Like any Dark Souls effort worth its salt, Dark Souls 3 is absolutely filled to the brim with double-hard, big baddie types that have a thing about wanting to put you six feet under as quickly as possible. From the initial scrap with Iudex Gundyr through to the final, controller-chucking showdown with the Soul of Cinder and every optional boss in between, here is every Dark Souls 3 boss in order.
1. Iudex Gundyr
2. Vordt of the Boreal Valley
3. Curse-Rotted Greatwood (Optional boss: Go to the massive courtyard area close to the end of the Undead Settlement zone and you should start to see some violet flowers. This will mean you’re in the right place.)
4. Crystal Sage
5. Deacons of the Deep
6. Abyss Watchers
7. High Lord Wolnir
8. Old Demon King (Optional boss: The Old Demon King can be found in the Smouldering Lake. To reach that location you must ensure that the wooden bridge prior to the High Lord Wolnir boss fight is destroyed. Once the bridge has been removed, the resulting path below will take you to this boss.)
9. Pontiff Sulyvahn
10. Yhorm the Giant
11. Aldritch, Devourer of Gods
12. Dancer of the Boreal Valley
13. Dragonslayer Armour
14. Oceiros, the Consumed King (Optional boss: You must defeat the Dancer of the Boreal Valley first and collect the basin she drops as loot. Simply place that basin on the statue in the room after she dies and a secret ladder triggers. Climb the ladder, take the first path to your left and then you’ll come across Oceiros, The Consumed King.)
15. Champion Gundyr (Optional boss: Once Oceiros has been felled, walk down the hallway until you hit a dead end. Strike the wall with your weapon and the newly revealed secret corridor will take you to the Untended Graves where you’ll find Champion Gundyr)
16. Lothric, Younger Prince and Lorian, Elder Prince (Two bosses for the price of one)
17. Ancient Wyvern (Optional boss: You must first reach Archdragon Peak which can only be accessed with the Path of the Dragon gesture that you can loot from a fallen foe near the optional Oceiros boss battle. Once collected, head to the Irithyll Dungeon and locate the meditating dragon statue. Use the Path of the Dragon gesture here and you’ll be transported to the Archdragon Peak. At this point just keep moving forward until you reach a gate because beyond this point the Ancient Wyvern waits for an almighty scrap)
18. Nameless King (Optional boss: Travel to the Archdragon Peak and proceed through the dungeon until you find a lever next to a massive bell. Simply pull said lever and a path will be revealed, setting up an epic confrontation with the fearsome Nameless King)
19. Soul of Cinder
