As he said, when asked, if he would like to close his career in Europe: “I am blessed to be in the NBA considering where I started, I am on a team where I want to do the best for them, but I envy the atmosphere of those games. I would like to have this in the NBA. I traveled from Greece today on a plane with 150 fans who left their job and their families, to support their team. I would like to play for those kind of fans”.

The Milwaukee Bucks superstar spoke to the Greek reporters in Berlin, explaining that he would return to Greece only for his hometown team Filathlitikos since neither of the two EuroLeague clubs wanted to sign him when he was a kid. “I don’t know if I would play for Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, because I have been asked this question many times,” the 2-time NBA MVP said. “But surely if I ever came back, I’d go back to Filathlikos, where I started. Giannis, 30, went as far as to suggest he’d be willing to buy Panathinaikos or Olympiacos off their current owners if they were eager to sell.
